The bureau for atmospheres is an experimental spatial practice, rooted in art, architecture and dance, and is open to all other disciplines. Operating internationally as a collective with changing active members, the bureau aims to create atmospheres that are beneficial for the whole. It provides services to assist with supporting sensory spatial awareness and to inspire self-empowered poetic action and to foster collective creative competence and empathy. The quality of shared space is an equally shared responsibility. The bureau for atmospheres advocates the idea that temporary activities inform future propositions and is meant to initiate a self-conscious utopian mechanism, which provokes positive and meaningful future blueprints. We believe in the ethics of joy-production as a suitable means to bring about ‘paradise’ through positive transformation on an individual as well as collective levels.
